Aoede's Pretty Damn Long List of Remus/Sirius Alternate Universe Recs
Last update: July 2, 2008
Number of fics: 224, +3 pieces of art and 4 fic archives.
► The quality of the fics you'll find here range from excellent to decent. I found some stories with interesting premises, but I had to leave them out simply because the writing wasn't up to par.
► Fics are organized by era, or by books if they fall into the canon. Some of them didn't clearly indicate an era, but I tried to put them in the most likely one. The ones I really couldn't match are at the bottom. Fics that span through several eras/books, Bring Back Black, Historical and Non-magical AUs will be listed separately because I'm lazy and didn't want to think too much about where to put them. :B
► Is this too confusing?? D:
► Feel free to suggest fics that you don't see here. However, I'll only add them if I think they're good. Don't worry, I'm not picky. Not much. BUT I won't include any threesome fics, mpreg or the usual squicks (bestiality, human waste, necrophilia, etc). I might make exceptions for the squicks, but only if the fic has other... uh, redeeming values?
► You're also free to point out any mistakes (any kind. Even spelling ones) and make any suggestions.
► I don't differentiate between Alternate Universe, Alternate Timeline, Alternate Reality or whatever they're called.
Now, onto the recs!

• Badly Made Bridges (

sundrymelodies and

Summary: Narrowly escaping the clutches of JK Rowling's canon, this alternate universe piece of fiction tells the story of the lives of many characters in the Harry Potter universe. Friendships, love, children and life, it explores what could have existed for them had they lived in another world--one without magic, without mass extermination, and without the 'Chosen One'.
What if Harry Potter had had a normal life, with a loving family, and siblings, and different influences? What if Peter Pettigrew had been caught in the middle of his tangled web of deceit? What if Remus Lupin hadn't been the last Marauder standing? A larger collection of these what ifs have stemmed from seven books penned by Rowling. This is just our way of saying 'fuck that'.

• Badly Made Bridges (
Summary: Narrowly escaping the clutches of JK Rowling's canon, this alternate universe piece of fiction tells the story of the lives of many characters in the Harry Potter universe.
